What Does A Postpartum Doula Do?

We often get asked this question. We always respond, “The question is what won’t we do?” It looks a little different for each family and depends on what each client is looking for. Some clients are looking for breastfeeding support, others information and education, and everyone is looking to get some rest with a good night of sleep. Sometimes we are caring for older siblings and baby while mom is grabbing a shower, sometimes we are helping dad give baby their first bath, and other times we are getting up at 3am so you can rest. It’s not out of the ordinary to have a postpartum doula cook a meal or empty the dishwasher (unless it’s overnight). Need help organizing all of the new baby gear? We do that too. Are the new grandparents coming to stay for a few days but your bathroom is a mess and you need help cleaning it out? We’ve done that too. We are here to support you in just about any way that we can. Are you interested in Postpartum Care? Give us a call today. We would love to chat with you.
